Flash to HTML Course Conversion

Flash training courses not working for your audience anymore?
Tired of all the training support calls? Let Illumen help!

Flash used to be the best way to build powerfully engaging eLearning. With changes in technology, Adobe, the maker of Flash is no longer supporting it after 2020. Already the popular browsers are disabling Flash or making it more difficult for your audience to view. Illumen has converted 100s of Flash courses and Flash assets into HTML5. Now audiences can view them again and even access them on their mobile devices!

How does Illumen convert courses? We have a process that involves recreating your course in Articulate Storyline using your old course files. We then publish in HTML, SCORM, AICC, or xAPI formats so your audience can enjoy your courses once again!

What benefits do you get with your nice new converted courses?

Your audience can view your courses once again!
Courses work on PC, Mac, in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer, and on mobile devices including tablets and smartphones.
Courses can be published in HTML for the web, SCORM, AICC, and xAPI compliance.
Your courses will be much easier to edit in the future!

This is fairly common. We prefer to have the source files if possible but can often decompile the Flash files you have directly. This means we can open up all those .swf files you may have and pull out the text, images, videos, and other assets. We will typically ask for a sample file while we are quoting the project for you.

These tools that convert Flash directly into HTML might look okay on the surface, but not under the hood. The HTML they produce is very messy, making it difficult to fix problems and make future edits. We find that headaches can be greatly reduced with Storyline and a glass of water. Storyline is one of the most used eLearning devleopment tools and publishes clean HTML that works on common computers, browsers, and mobile devices. Let us know if you would like to know more!

HTML has been around since the the web was invented and in the last few years has become more versatile, supporting complex interactions, visual layouts, and animation. During this time Flash began having delivery problems on mobile devices, security, and other issues. Adobe, the makers of Flash, have said they will stop supporting Flash on December 31, 2020. To prepare for this, common web browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Internet Explorer have already begun to push Flash out by disabling the Flash plugin and championing HTML.

While we never know what new thing will drive better training solutions, HTML has always been here and is always evolving. By developing in Articulate Storyline, you can rest easy and know your audience will be able to view your eLearning now and in the future.
