Challenge: The University of Florida offered a live program several times per year to educate citrus farmers to properly identify and resolve citrus greening, or diseases, that can destroy oranges. This live program required travel for many of the farmers, and required the availability of the educators.
Solution: To reduce costs and increase productivity, Illumen Group created an online citrus greening training course. This course allows a manager to e-mail a link containing the course and instructions to any farmer. Once a user logs in, they are taken through the detailed course to learn what to look for and how to resolve citrus greening. Assessments are used to track performance. This course is offered in English and Spanish.
