We are often asked, “Can you give us a few examples of eLearning and eMarketing projects?”. The terms ‘eLearning’ and ‘eMarketing’ cover a wide variety of types of projects. We have many people who need our services, and they all search for us in different ways. We often see:
- Computer-Based Training (CBT)
- Interactive Training
- Mulitmedia Training or Multimedia Presentation

- Course, Class, Curriculum
- Electronically Supported Learning and Teaching
- CME Modules
- Classroom 2.0
- Learning Content
- Learning Management System (LMS)
Not only are there many ways to say it, there are many more types of projects. Below are a series of examples of eLearning and eMarketing projects:
Illumen developed a custom LMS and seven training modules for certification within each role.
Illumen developed a plan focused on building the level of experience both in making drinks and food by providing preparatory steps and then placing the learner in a virtual environment where they must prepare the requested item. They are then provided feedback based on their time and accuracy. This simulation, or visual game, gave the user customer satisfaction points which allowed them to continue or replay the game until they were prepared to spend a much decreased amount of time with the manager. Brand and culture play a large role in this company and so their training experience, which was one of the first tasks they had to preform, had to express their culture. A strong user interface design created a look and feel that prepared the learner for the culture they were becoming a part of.
Illumen has created several complex templates for providing interactive surgical technique training on new instrumentation. These solutions follow the developed technique guides but provide a more in depth step-by-step visual procedure. The user moves from step to step, being presented the information and requesting the learner to interact by dragging instruments together or to the patient, adjusting instruments based on the X-rays and sizing required, answering questions to scenarios, and finally taking an assessment to certify the learner of the given material.
Illumen worked with several subject matter experts and the instructional designer to determine the best approach to training and expressing the processes and procedures in place to limit problems. This learning module provides several interactive knowledge checks to assess the understanding of the learner and provide feedback.
These templates allow for the use of all kinds of available assets, including existing images and illustrations, 3D rendered animations, and realtime 3D animations to depict the techniques.
Illumen has developed many learning modules training on these subjects by placing the learner in the space with a virtual tenured manager that takes them through all the procedures and approaches to handling situations. By first providing a general level of information, building upon that, and then adding a level of interactive tools and training exercises, managers can not only be prepared, but also be provided with a much deeper level of company culture and quality that is carried through the learning modules.
Illumen has created several templates that allows videos, interactive training exercises, step-by-step animations, text, and audio to be plugged in. These care and use products can be delivered online, on iPads or other tablets as websites or apps, on CD-ROM, and on flash drives.
